The 10 Rupees banknote was issued in 2002 to commemorate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Gyanendra's Accession to the Throne. This is the first banknote issued in Polymer in Nepal. The banknote has been graded by PMG as Superb Gem UNC 67 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality).

The banknote is made of polymer, featuring multicolour, measuring 133 × 70 mm in size. The banknote is printed by Note Printing Australia, Melbourne, Australia.
The obverse side of the banknote features the image of Lord Changunarayan at the center, a portrait of King Gyanendra in Plumed Crown on the left, and a watermark of the Crown on the right.
The reverse side of the banknote showcases two antelopes at the center.
