The National Reserve Bank of Tonga (NRBT) unveils new series of banknotes featuring Polymer substrates and enhanced security features. On December 4, the National Reserve Bank of Tonga (NRBT) marked a significant milestone with the launch of Tonga's new series of banknotes. The chosen date for the release holds special significance as it commemorates the birthday of King Tupou I, a key modernizer who reigned from 1845 to 1893. Produced in collaboration with De La Rue, the new banknote series incorporates both paper and polymer substrates, introducing updated security elements to enhance durability and deter counterfeiting. This redesign represents Tonga's first use of polymer in its currency since 2015. The series comprises 2-, 5-, 10-, 20-, 50-, and 100-pa’anga notes, with the colors remaining unchanged. The 1 Peso Banknote from the Mexican Revolution, specifically from the State of Chihuahua (Estado de Chihuahua), offers a fascinating glimpse into this tumultuous period of Mexican history. Issued in 1915, this banknote has been assessed by PMG and received a grade of Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ, denoting its exceptional paper quality.

This historic banknote is a piece of art, measuring 186 x 78 mm and printed with black and blue ink. It bears red serial numbers, which add to its visual appeal.

On the obverse side of the banknote, you'll find portraits of two significant figures of the Mexican Revolution. Francisco I. Madero, positioned on the left, played a pivotal role in the early stages of the revolution. On the right, you'll see Abraham González Casavantes, another key figure in the revolutionary movement.

Flipping the banknote reveals the reverse side, featuring an exterior view of the Government Palace in Chihuahua City at the center. This historic building holds immense significance as it was connected to various events during the Mexican Revolution. It is flanked by two griffons, adding to the artistic and symbolic elements of the banknote.
