The National Reserve Bank of Tonga (NRBT) unveils new series of banknotes featuring Polymer substrates and enhanced security features. On December 4, the National Reserve Bank of Tonga (NRBT) marked a significant milestone with the launch of Tonga's new series of banknotes. The chosen date for the release holds special significance as it commemorates the birthday of King Tupou I, a key modernizer who reigned from 1845 to 1893. Produced in collaboration with De La Rue, the new banknote series incorporates both paper and polymer substrates, introducing updated security elements to enhance durability and deter counterfeiting. This redesign represents Tonga's first use of polymer in its currency since 2015. The series comprises 2-, 5-, 10-, 20-, 50-, and 100-pa’anga notes, with the colors remaining unchanged. The 50 Taka Commemorative Banknote from Bangladesh holds a significant place in numismatics. It was issued in 2021 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary, also known as the Golden Jubilee, of the independence of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. This remarkable banknote has received a prestigious grading of Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) from PMG.

The 50 Taka banknote is characterized by its distinctive purple color, set against a captivating multicolor underprint. It measures 130 x 60 mm in size, making it a notable addition to any collection.

On the obverse side, the banknote showcases a bust of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a revered figure often considered the father of the nation. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman played a pivotal role by issuing the independence proclamation at the outset of the nine-month war for liberation. The design also incorporates an image of the National Monument in a subtle yet significant light color.

The reverse of the banknote presents a powerful image of eight freedom fighters, resolutely advancing through the field, each armed with rifles. The banknote proudly bears the inscriptions "Golden Jubilee of Independence 1971–2021" at the top and "Commemorative Note" on the right side, highlighting the historical significance of this release.
